Firewood production
Bulk Log Truck Purchases
The firewood we sell for the most part starts out in log form when it arrives in our wood yard. We have purchased many trucks of logs from local suppliers and turned them into dry firewood.
Cut Logs into Rounds
The next step of the process is to turn the logs into firewood rounds. The logs are loaded onto the bucking table and then sawed into 16" lengths using the Stihl chainsaw.
Split and Stack
The firewood rounds are then split into usable firewood using the County Line 25-Ton Wood Splitter and immediately stacked.
Dry!
To burn properly, firewood must be below 20% moisture content. In our opinion, the easiest way for us to get below 20% is to stack and cover the firewood as long as possible, at least 1 year. The firewood is always covered from the time that it is stacked until the time you pick it up in the roadside stand.
Make Bundles
One part of the process after the firewood is dried is to create firewood bundles. We currently only bag our firewood, as we find it more convenient for our customers and also it allows the firewood to continue to stay dry. The bags are also reusable!
Roadside Stand
The last step of the process is to load the roadside firewood stand. For loose firewood, we use a couple tools, including the Kioti CK3510SE tractor.
